My Story

Career Break To Breakthrough

I was a young girl with big  dreams. Being from a small town, I always aspired to have identity as a career woman in a high position in a big Organization.

My hard work, perseverance and belief in self helped me sail through initial hiccups in my career. I stayed away from home for my graduation and then studied MBA, I was among toppers, but did not get campus placement.

Struggled to get first Job, gap between passing out from campus and getting first job was almost five  months, however wait was worthwhile, I got placed with an Engineering giant – Larsen & Tubro @ Mumbai .After 5 years, came the time for marriage. The match was from Delhi while I was based in Mumbai. Now the question was should I leave my job and be in Delhi or should I fight for my career.
I choose to stay in Mumbai & after a year my thoughtful husband shifted to Mumbai to my work base. God Bless Him & our family! Later as our family grew, I became a mother and I had to compromise on many aspects when it came to my career. Subsequent work assignments and changes in my job happened because I choose to shift base whenever my husband got great Job offers in different cities. I traveled along with him. All this while I kept myself busy with some temporary assignments, Acquiring LLB degree, doing important certifications and sometimes WAS AT HOME.
No regrets as I believed, I can get back whenever I wanted. My husband called me “Pheonix”

After every break, I struggled however persevered ……. Nothing could cease the fire in me, hence kept working with gaps, resuming after every break, balancing work and home and child.  It was not easy, however I never thought it was impossible….

This journey continued for 22 years, reaching to highest level in HR role as Director. I worked in different industries – Manufacturing , IT, Education and IT enabled services, and short stint as MBA faculty , HR consultant and Corporate trainer and Advocate. Currently I have started my venture as Life Coach.

I want to help all the women who took break for some reason but now are either scared to go back, or are being downsized because of their break.

When a person starts after a break they do not start from zero… this time they start with experience and that’s needs to be respected.

Honestly, I have experienced the anxiety, worry, low confidence, discrimination that  women face post break and being alone in this journey makes it even harder to get by. That’s when I decided become a coach to help others overcome challenges, find purpose, achieve goals, and create the life they want.

I realize how important it is to have a coach in this journey as my coach helped me in my journey from   CAREER BREAK TO BREAKTHROUGH.
